Obituary

William “Bill” D. Fox, of Kahoka, passed away peacefully at home at 4:57 am on Saturday, June 11, 2022. He was 63 years old. Bill was born in Deadwood, South Dakota, on August 9, 1958, one of six boys born to John D. Fox Sr. and Sally Fox (Maynard) Bill graduated high school and went on to college to be an auctioneer.  He met Ruth Hammel, who was four hours older than he was, and they were married on April 25, 1979, at the Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, Missouri.  Together they shared two daughters and made a wonderful life together that was unique and all their own.

Bill was very community minded and lived his faith as a testament to anyone who knew him.  He was Deacon for a time at the Alexandria Baptist Church, he served the local Fire department and was a City Marshall, and an EMT.  Bill was also a very active member of the Alexandria Gun Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and boating, or any other outdoor pursuit that took him into the great outdoors. He most recently worked for Clark County R-1 School District up until his recent illness. Bill lived for his grandchildren and his family.  He did almost everything with family and shared many wonderful times with his friends and those he loved. Bill was a kind, honorable man who will be missed and forever remembered by his many friends and the family who loved him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Ruth, and his daughters; Jamie Marie (Daniel) Jinkens, of Ursa, Illinois, and Joni Ann Fox, (Douglas Bucher), of St. Francisville, Missouri; granddaughters; Kaley Jinkens, Rebecca Ann Young, and Carol Lea Young; brothers Floyd Fox and Mike (Jeri) Fox of Wayland, Missouri, and brother Tim Fox of Kenel, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Janna Jinkens, as well as his brothers, Doug, and John Fox.
