Pamela Halstead

July 19, 1966 — May 27, 2022

Kahoka

Pamela Sue Halstead, (55), of Kahoka, (formerly of Iowa) passed away at 1:37am on Friday, May 27, 2022, at SE Iowa Regional Medical Center in Burlington.

She was born on July 19, 1966, in Ohio, the daughter of the late Sammy and Nancy (Hubbard) Steele.

Pamela was awarded an honorable, medical discharge from the United States Army after injuries sustained during training curtailed her military career. She graduated from Nursing school in Toledo, Ohio and spent the rest of her working life caring for, and in the service of others, eventually retiring from HCHC Mt. Pleasant. When her health permitted, Pamela liked to be out in nature and enjoyed her quiet walks just being outside. Pamela adored her family and grandkids and was happiest being with them, especially at the pool whenever she was able.  She was known for her jewelry and the accessories that she loved to collect, and she loved spending time with her church friends and family at the Freedom of Christ Fellowship Church.

In addition to her parents, Pamela is pre-deceased by her two sons, baby Halstead, and Coty Halstead, as well as a granddaughter: Carden Jo LaBonte.  She is survived by her devoted daughter Samantha, (Cody) LeBonte, of Kahoka, grandchildren; Trinity, Terry, and Temperance LaBonte; special "adopted" daughters: Kendra, (Martin) Lunsford of New London, Iowa, and Kayley Rhodes & Brian Kelley and their four children, Gunner, Rosa, Jasper, and Cassidy, of Kahoka, Missouri; and one brother, Sammy “Neil” Steele, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Private cremation arrangements have been handled with Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home.  Memorials in Pamela’s memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or the Freedom of Christ Fellowship Church, are gratefully welcomed.
