Jeffrey Aaron Whiteaker, 62, of Kahoka, passed away at 4:40 pm on Monday, November 1, 2021, at his home.

He was born on March 7, 1959, in Kahoka, the son of the late Carroll and Virginia (Speake) Whiteaker. Jeff married Linda Reed on March 7, 1994, in Kahoka and she survives.

Jeff was a laborer for most of his working life. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren and family. They meant everything to him.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by two daughters; Kristin (Wes) Schlatter of Kahoka and Brittany (Chris) Pittman of Dunkerton, Iowa, a step son; Brandon (Courtney) Salyers of Wyaconda, a step daughter; Megan (Joey Leeper) Salyers of Kahoka, five grandchildren; Konnor Schlatter, Blake Schlatter, Shyann Rink, Tanner Pittman and Alexis Pittman, six step grandchildren; Miranda Salyers, Victor Steele, Cameron Leeper, Dominic Salyers, Braxton Salyers, Elayna Salyers and an expected forthcoming step grandchild, a brother; David Whiteaker, three sisters; Beverly (Mark) Armstrong of Kahoka, Betty Jane (Roger) Ludwick of Kahoka and Carolyn (Roger) McAllister, his aunts; Veva Haage of Wayland, Betty Rosencrans of Kahoka; two brothers in-law; Steve (Diane) Reed of Alexandria and Dale Reed of Alexandria, a sister in-law; Anne (Steve) Howell of Kahoka, best friends; Kent Shaffer of Kahoka and Ramona Jackson of Kahoka and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and grandparents, Jeff was preceded in death by his brother in-law, Stan Reed.

In accordance with Jeff’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. The arrangements and care are under the direction of Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka. Memorial contributions in memory of Jeff are suggested to the family.
