Homer Boudreau

Homer Celestine Boudreau, 78, of Wayland, passed away at 1:51 pm on Monday, April 18, 2022, at his home.

He was born on October 12, 1943, in St. Patrick, the son of the late Eugene and Dorothy (Montgomery) Boudreau. Homer married Ida Hesse in February of 1968 and to this union were born four children: Lori Boudreau, Angie (Steve Babington) Sweet of Wayland, Richard Boudreau of Donnellson, Iowa and Craig Boudreau of Fort Madison, Iowa. Homer was later united in marriage to Jennie Vigil on February 13, 2010, and she survives.

Homer worked for Keokuk Steel Castings in Keokuk, Iowa and later retired in 2016.  He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America. He also worked as an automotive mechanic for a period of time. He was a member of the New Life Family Church in Burlington, Iowa.

Homer enjoyed stock car racing, watching football and loved to play cards with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife and children, Homer is survived by three brothers; Calvin Boudreau of Keokuk, Iowa, Don (Sarah) Boudreau of Alexandria and Roger Edwards of Florida, four sisters; Dorothy Hall of Keokuk, Iowa, Mary Wilhelm of Memphis, Connie (Tom) St. Clair of Keokuk, Iowa and Patty (Jerry) Tichenor of Keokuk, Iowa, ten grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Homer was preceded in death by a daughter; Lori Boudreau, a stepdaughter; Zina Montoya, a brother in-law; Ralph Hall Jr., a nephew; Nate Boudreau and by a great niece; Alyssa Benedict.

Memorial services honoring the life of Homer will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the New Life Family Church in Burlington, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of services at the church.

A private graveside service for family will be conducted at a later date at the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. The Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka is in charge of the care and arrangements.
