Wilma Rose Kuntz, age 90, of Kahoka, MO, died Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Wilma was born November 6, 1922, in Revere, MO a daughter of Richard and Tirza Best Halferty.

She was united in marriage to Craig L. Kuntz on March 21,1943 in Louisiana, MO. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2000.

Survivors include two sons Ron (Karen) Kuntz of Marietta, GA and Robert "Bobby" Kuntz of Kahoka, MO; four grandchildren: Chad (Kelli) Kuntz of Prairieville, LA, Brett Kuntz of Prairieville, LA, Carrie (Gary) Moix of San Antonio, TX, and Craig (Angela) Kuntz of Cordova, AK; three step grandchildren; three great grandchildren, Lauren Romig of French Settlement, LA and Rhegan and Cade Kuntz of Prairieville, LA; 9 step great grandchildren; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son David Kuntz on May 8, 2001; four sisters: Faye Schreiber, Opal Sherwood, Mary Bartels and Amy Abel; four brothers: John Halferty, Ray Halferty, Sam Halferty, and Wayne Halferty; and twin siblings in infancy.

Wilma was a graduate of Revere High School. Prior to her marriage she worked as a local phone operator and later at the Iowa Ammunition Plant in Middletown, IA. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker and a farmer's wife, which made her very proud. She was on the Oats Board for several years and enjoyed the trips they took as a group. She was a member of the Medill Extension club and former 4-H leader. She and Craig were involved in the founding of the Industrial Opportunities in Kahoka.

She attended Peaksville Christian Church as a child and was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ since her marriage. She worked many years helping provide lunch for grieving families at the church. She enjoyed gardening and was known for her Iris' breeds and varieties and sharing them with others.

Memorial services were held Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the Pavilion located in Indian Lake Park in Farmington, IA, with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating.

Memorials were suggested to Industrial Opportunities of Kahoka, St Paul United Church of Christ, or the Peaksville Christian Church.
