Virginia Price

February 19, 1942 — February 22, 2026

Kahoka

Virginia Price, 84, of Kahoka, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Clark County Nursing Home, in Kahoka, Missouri with her family by her side.

She was born on February 19, 1942, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Claude and Dora (Harris) Sackman. One of 5 children, Virginia, attended Kahoka High School and graduated in 1960. After Claude passed away in 1961, Dora remarried Dwayne Altmaier in 1963, and Dwayne was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather for many years.

Virginia married Charles Price on September 18, 1971, in Alexandria, Missouri, and they remained together until his passing in 2013. Together, they raised 3 children: Tammy, Terry, and Dwayne. Virginia worked at Sheller-Globe for close to 40 years, but she is best known for her time at The Ice Cream Shop in Kahoka, where she loved to engage with people. Virginia was a social butterfly who never knew a stranger. She loved her children and grandchildren very much, and she was a strong, devoted woman of faith. A long-time member of the Kahoka Christian Church, Virginia was also a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and was a fixture for every dinner and special event the women’s group held. Virginia will be remembered for her kindness, her strong personality, and her stubborn will that carried her through and sustained her, even when all the odds seemed stacked against her. She was an honest, genuine person, and she will be deeply missed.

Virginia is survived by her children, Tammy (Tony) McDaniel-Ramsey, Kahoka, MO, Terry (David) Howell, St. Patrick, MO, and Dwayne (Sarah) Price, also of Kahoka, MO; grandchildren: Shawn (Amy) Howell, Matthew (Emily) McDaniel, Mandy (Andrew) Gessling, Shane (Jaidyn) McDaniel, Marcus (Abby) McDaniel, Ellie Price, Evelyn Mehrhoff, Logan Mehrhoff, Hannah Mehrhoff, Jacob Mehrhoff, Ava Price, Tyler Ramsey, Jordan (Melanie) Ramsey, and Megan ( Anthony VanAuken) Ramsey; 18 great-grandchildren, brothers Raymond (Megan) Sackman, and Frank Sackman; as well as sisters in law: Mildred Frederick, and Juanita Poe.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, her parents, son-in-law Randy McDaniel, great-grandson Garrison Gessling, 2 sisters, Darlene Alison, and Mary LeMaster, and nieces Hope Overhulser, and Audrey Shaffer.
