TONYA MARIE ASH
Tonya Marie Ash, age 31, of Wayland, MO, together with her unborn son, Tripp Jacob Hudnut, died Friday, October 30, 2015 in an automobile accident at the Junction of Route C and Highway 27, north of Wayland, MO.
Tonya was born February 26, 1984, at Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Scott J. and Donna Sue Allen Ash. Tripp was loved and anticipated by Tonya and his father, Shane Hudnut, and their families in February of 2016.
Tonya and Tripp are survived by her daughter, Tinslee Nesta Mitchell of the home; her parents, Scott and Donna Ash of Wayland, MO, her fiancé and Tripp's father, Shane Hudnut of Canton, MO, Shane's parents, Vernon and Vickie Hudnut of Kahoka, MO, Shane's grand-mother, Marie White of Kahoka, MO; Tonya's sister, Jaymie (Jake) Jackson and their son, Derek of Wayland, MO, her cousin, Markie Ash, and daughter, Daisie, of Wayland, MO, who was a like a sister to Tonya; aunts and uncles: Sheree Ash (Todd McCann) of St. Francisville, MO, Steve Ash (Billie Lay) of Kahoka, MO, Dawna (Bill) Reece of Fort Madison, IA, Mark Ash of St. Francisville, MO, Marty (Tina) Allen of South Dakota, Perry (Diane) Allen of Elvaston, IL, Thelma (Randy)Norton of Memphis, MO; great aunts and uncles; as well as many cousins and friends.
Tonya and Tripp are preceded in death by her grandparents, Alva Ash, Jr., Betty Jo Ash, Clarence Allen, Nelda Allen Barbie; and step-grandfather, Gerald Barbie.
Tonya was a 2002 graduate of Clark County R-1 High School. She was employed as a CNA at the Clark County Nursing Home.
Her daughter, Tinslee and her nephew, Derek, were her pride and joy. She was a devoted mother and worked very hard to build a life for herself and Tinslee. Tonya had a great smile and personality. She would light up the room when she walked in and made the day better for others. She was giving and unselfish and her wish was that everyone would be happy and she would do her best to make that happen. She loved to shop and the times she and her sister and family would spontaneously load up the car and take off together for an adventure.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Paul Milliken officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Travis Sturm, Logan Smeltser, T.J. Andrews, Anthony Fox, Colton Sturm and Brett Briggs. Honorary pallbearers were: Mark Shuman, Andy Benedict, Terry Alvis, Clayton Cook, David Smeltser and Gordon Smeltser.
Friends called at Wilson Funeral Home after 9a.m. on Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
