THELMA O. HUDNUT

Thelma Oma Lee Hudnut, age 89, formerly of Williamstown, MO, died Thursday,November 17, 2005 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

She was born April 30, 1916, in Lewis County, MO, near LaBelle, a daughter of Roy Edward and Gertrude Gardner Newberry.

On June 17, 1959, she was united in marriage to James Lois Hudnut at Central Baptist Church in Quincy.

Survivors include her husband, James Lois Hudnut, of the Lewis Co. Nursing Home in Canton; a brother-in-law, John Stephens, of Quincy, IL; sisters-in-law, Marge Newberry of Wever, IA, Donna Hudnut of Canton, MO, Gynell Hudnut of Lewistown, MO, and Mary Ellen Todd of Canton, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Daniel Newberry; and, four sisters: Reda and Emma Newberry, Alma Stephens, and Vesta Blaesing.

Thelma graduated from Quincy High School and attended Gem City College. She then worked as a receptionist at the former P & S Clinic in Quincy until her marriage.

Following her marriage to Lois, she moved to his farm near Williamstown where she spent her time as a homemaker. She had been a member of Central Baptist Church in Quincy until her marriage when she transferred her membership to Liberty Baptist Church near Williamstown. She and Lois were devoted members of the church and also to each other. She loved their nieces and nephews very much.

Funeral services are Sunday, November 20, 2005 at 1:30 p.m.at Liberty Baptist Church, rural Williamstown, MO, with burial in Liberty Cemetery.

Friends can call after 9 a.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Children's Home of Bridgeton at St. Louis.
