Sue Ann Hamner-White, 59, of St. Patrick, the daughter of Mary (Bair) Hamner and the late Ron Hamner born on February 23, 1963 in Keokuk, Iowa passed away peacefully at 1:21 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at her Lake of the Oaks home in rural Clark County.

Sue had a vast work history including the family sawmill, painting/construction, and retail at different farm and home hardware stores most recently Nick’s Farm and Home in Kahoka. She was known for her helpful and personable demeanor and loved to help customers find what they were looking for. Whether she was working or meeting people socially, she always displayed a very positive and outgoing personality; she never knew a stranger. Sue had several hobbies and interests; she enjoyed visiting the beach and spending time on the water, looking for sea turtles, kayaking, gardening and flowers, antiquing, bird watching, listening to music, Chicago Cubs baseball, Dirt track racing, NASCAR racing (Jimmy Johnson was her driver of choice), but most of all she enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, Mary Hamner of Kahoka, Sue is survived by a son; Jerimiah Stewart of Miami, Florida, a daughter; Shanna (Jacob) Dierker of Clark County, five grandchildren; Keeley Smeltser, Hunter Stewart, Daphne Arjona, Jakobie (Miranda) Justice and Hannah (Jesse) Stice, three great-grandchildren; Jalaina and Zariyah Stice and Bella Meyers, two sisters; Jane (Greg) Horton of Kahoka and Ronda Sommers of Kahoka and by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grand-pups. She is also survived by her beloved cats; Bonnie & Binks as well as her pet rabbit, Mr. Penny.

A celebration honoring Sue’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 6, 2022, in the Community Center at the Lake of the Oaks. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Combs Cemetery in Luray.  Memorial contributions in memory of Sue are suggested to the Blessing Foundation for Cancer Treatment or to the Clark County Cancer Fund.
