STUART W. JOHNSON

Stuart W. Johnson, age 52, of Wayland, MO, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his home.

Stu was born January 4, 1966 in Keokuk, IA, the son of William and Freda Smith Johnson.

He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1984 and from Wichita Technical Institute, Wichita, KS in 1985.

On August 14, 1993 he was united in marriage to Janice Buschling McWilliams at the Wayland United Methodist Church and they would have celebrated 25 years together in three months.

Survivors include his wife, Janice, of the home; his parents, William and Freda Johnson of Hamilton; mother-in-law, Becky Buschling of Wayland; children: Shane McWilliams and Kristen McWilliams, both of Wayland; grandchildren: Trinity, Hallee, Issabelle and Adalyn Evans McWilliams, Taylor and Landon Humes, and Olivia Weller; great grandson, Vincent Evans; sister, Robin (Lennie) Anderson of Hamilton; two nieces, Mandy (Cliff) Dodson of Hamilton, and Brandy (Corey) Vanderpool of Keokuk; two great-nieces, Lyndie and Khylie Dodson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Fred (Kathy) Buschling of Wayland, and Cheryl Buschling and Tamara (John) Oilar all of Kahoka; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, George Buschling; grandparents: Henry and Aggie Smith, Johanna Morris, and George Johnson; and, brother-in-law, John Buschling.

Stu was employed at Steel Castings in Keokuk. He attended the Wayland United Methodist Church and supported many activities of the church and served as caretaker with Janice.

Stu loved his family and friends and spending time with them. He loved taking Taylor hunting, loved going to the river, going camping and mushrooming. He recently found three! He looked forward to his daily trips to the service station to hang out with the guys and find out the latest news. Stu had a servants heart and would help anyone in need. If you called him he would come help immediately and if he knew you needed help, you wouldn’t even have to call.

He was looking forward to the Rust Revival this coming weekend at Wayland which meant spending time with even more friends.

A memorial service for Stu was held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wayland United Methodist Church with Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating. Inurnment followed in the Sand Cemetery at St. Francisville.
