Shelley J. Stevens, age 54, of Kahoka, passed away at her home on March 24, 2021.
She was born December 4, 1966, in Keokuk, IA, the first daughter of Peter and Patricia Flynn Stevens.
Survivors include one son, Skyler (McKinna) Stevens of St. Louis, one daughter, Hunter Roach of Marshall, AR, her parents, two sisters; Sheri (Joe) Lamberson of Russellville, and Sunny Stevens (Ryan Nye) of Kahoka, two granddaughters; Siddalee and Sedona Stevens, aunts and uncles; Candis (Kirk) Brown, Jeri Cooper, and Tom Stevens, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Shelley was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her dear friend, Kenny Butler.
Shelley was a graduate of Clark County High School, Class of 1985, and received a degree in fashion design from John Wood Community College. Shelley had a special talent in taking care of the elderly and those in need of a helping hand. As a nature lover, she had her grandmother's gift of a green thumb growing plants and flowers. She also loved hunting for Native American artifacts, camping, being in the sun, and taking on any adventure. Visiting with her children, along with giving gifts and sending cards to friends and family for every occasion brought her the most joy in life. Her free-spirited nature and ability to make people laugh will be missed.
Cremation rites were accorded. Private graveside service will be conducted for the family at the Kahoka Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials in Shelley's name may be made payable to her children care of Pat Stevens.
