Scott James Ash, 58, of Wayland, passed away at 7:08 pm on Saturday June 24, 2023, at his home. 

 

He was born October 25, 1964, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Late Alva Jr. & Betty Jo (Toops) Ash. Scott was united in marriage to Donna Sue Allen on April 9, 1983, in Wayland and she survives.

 

Scott worked for Steel Castings in Keokuk, Iowa for many years and up until the time of his death.  He was a dedicated employee and took his job very seriously.  When Scott was not working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, looking for arrowheads and mushrooms but above all, he loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren.

 

In addition to his wife of 40 years, Donna, Scott survived by his daughter; Jaymie (Jacob) Jackson of Wayland, two grandchildren; Derek Jackson & Tinslee Mitchell both of Wayland, his sister; Dawna Reece of Iowa City, Iowa and by several nieces, nephews and special friends. Besides his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his daughter Tonya Marie Ash, an unborn grandson Tripp Hudnut, two brothers; Steve and Mark Ash and by a sister; Sheree Ash.

 

Graveside Services honoring Scott’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday July 5, 2023, at the Oak Hill Cemetery Wayland. Pastor Shelby Whitney will officiate.  Those planning on attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.  The Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home of Kahoka has been entrusted with the care and arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Scott are suggested to the family.  You are invited to share your memories of Scott and leave a condolence at www.wilsontriplett.com
