S. MARVIN "MARV" WORRELL
S. Marvin "Marv" Worrell, age 70, of St. Francisville, MO, died on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Veteran's Administration Hospital in Iowa City, IA, following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 27, 1934 at Revere, MO, a son of Stanley and Mary Ethel Toops Worrell.
He married Shirley Vogel Leazer on April 11, 1970 at Kahoka.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of St. Francisville, MO; a step-son, Randy Leazer of Keokuk, IA; two step-daughters, Becky LeMaster of St. Francisville, MO and Peggy McTernan of Tequesta, FL; two sisters, Marilyn Streitz and her husband, Bill, of Phoenix, AZ and Karen Hamner and her husband, Dale, of Keokuk, IA; five grandchildren: Logan, Ashley, Landon, Aliza and Niki; a great-granddaughter, Isabella; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Charles Worrell.
"Marv" attended Revere High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the end of the Korean War.
He had owned custom off-road vehicle businesses in Phoenix, AZ and El Cajon, CA until retiring and returning to Clark County.
Until his health started failing, he had been active in Ayer-Boatman Post # 4342, V.F.W. and the Clark Co. Moose. In earlier days he had taught and called square dancing in the Quincy and Donnellson areas. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing shuffleboard. "Marv"was devoted to his family and adored his grandchildren.
Graveside services and full military rites will be Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 11 a.m.
at Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, MO, with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will follow.
Friends can call after 9 a.m. on Monday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
