Ruth A. Dinger
Ruth A. Dinger, age 94, of Kahoka, MO, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 in the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka where she had been a resident the past day.
She was born November 11, 1911 in Kahoka, MO, a daughter of Ortin and Lena Theiss Heinze.
On May 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to Elmer C. Dinger who preceded her in death on August 13, 1981.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Boice and Esther Linquist Saar both of Kahoka; a
sister-in-law, Mary Agnes Heinze of Mitchellville, MD; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Peter Heinze.
Ruth graduated from Kahoka High School in 1930 and received her teaching certificate from Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College at Kirksville. She taught school in Clark County for 42 years. She and Elmer never had any children of their own but she had the love and reward of helping many students in her teaching career.
Ruth was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, Kahoka Chapter # 40, O.E.S and the Clark Co. Retired Teachers. She was very active in and a former board member of the Clark Co. Senior Center and also a former Clark Co. Nursing Home volunteer, doing mending for its residents.
Ruth was a talented seamstress and many friends and families were blessed with her crocheted items. She also grew lovely flowers at her home and at one time had 100 African violets in her home.
Funeral services are Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Friday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Clark Co. Senior Center.
