Kahoka

Ruby Faye Koogle, 92, of Kahoka, Missouri, formerly of Ft. Madison, Iowa, passed away at 7:35pm on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

Ruby was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on July 14, 1931, to D.J. and Faye Miller, (Wilson). Ruby and her 4 siblings grew up in Fort Madison, Iowa, where Ruby graduated from Fort Madison High School. On November 5, 1949, Ruby married Leland Eugene Koogle, and together they raised 2 children: Carrol and Robert. Ruby was a homemaker, a loving wife, and devoted mother. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and crocheted afghans and created numerous needlepointed pillowcases. Ruby was a social butterfly, caring and kind; she loved helping people and organizing activities at the Senior Living Center in Kahoka where she was a resident for almost 30 years.

Ruby came from parents of large families, deeply rooted in belief of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed having family, friends, and neighbors get together for bible studies, reunions, or just coffee. Friends and family remember that the coffee was always on and she welcomed company. She had strong personal faith and love of scriptures.

Ruby was a 2nd generation member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kahoka Chapter. Her sweet, outgoing, and social nature will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Carrol White of Revere, MO, and her son, Robert Koogle and his wife Sarah, of Goodyear, AZ; grandchildren Sloane Marie Koogle and her husband Adam Gomez, of Yuma, AZ, James Kolby Kiley and his wife Becca, of Cordele, GA; great-grandchildren Kira Maaske, Claira, Eleanor, Olivia, and Elijah Kiley. Her nieces and nephews, David Wilson, Don Wilson, Trudy Peterson, Dennis Doty, Tom Doty, Candy Ware, and Todd Wood; and great nephews and nieces and great grand nephews and nieces. She also enjoyed a unique close relationship with both double cousins and cousins.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her brother JD Miller; sisters Rita Pearl Doty, Theda May Wilson, and Jewel Geraldine Wood; and her nephew, Jim Doty.

There will be a celebration of life for Ruby at a later date. Cards and messages of condolence are gratefully accepted. At this time floral tributes are respectfully declined. Condolences may be left for the family at www.wilsontriplett.com
