ROBERT LEE YORK

Robert Lee York, age 80, of Wayland, MO, died Friday, May 19, 2006 at his home.

He was born March 7, 1926 at Quincy, IL, a son of William Alvin and Mary Catherine DavisYork.

Survivors include two sons, Mike York and his wife, Ronda, of Kahoka, MO, and Al York and his wife, Jennifer, of Champaign, IL; five daughters: Ina York of the Dominican Republic, Thresa Zipprich and her husband, Kevin, of Deland, IL, and, Kim Hatfield and her husband, Melvin, Roberta McAfee and her husband, Shawn, and Martha York, all of Kahoka, MO; a daughter-in-law, Vera Morris of Kahoka, MO; a sister, Lillian Hester of Quincy, IL; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, George Soule; a daughter,Rebecca; a son, Dennis; a great-granddaughter, Shannon; also three sisters and a brother.

Bob had proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He had been employed a period of time for the former Sherwood Elevator in Kahoka and was a familiar figure around Wayland. He enjoyed visiting with people whenever he had the opportunity and helping out when he could.

Funeral services are graveside, Monday, May 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Kahoka Cemetery with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Full military rites will be offered by the Missouri Military Honors Program and Herman Blum Post # 192, American Legion and Ayer-Boatman Post # 4342, V. F. W.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Wilson Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the Wayland Fire Department.
