Robert James Hite Sr. 69, of Surprise, Arizonia, formally of Medill, Missouri passed away in his home, Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Robert was born on November 16, 1956, to Raymond and Unice (Krouse) Hite. Robert was a 1974 graduate of Kahoka High School, in high school he played basketball, track and participated in the science fairs.

After high school he got 3 certifications in water reclamation and worked at Sheaffer Pen in Fort Madison, Iowa where he met his lifelong friend Terry Butler. Throughout the years, they went on many hunting and fishing trips together. Robert went to Surprise, AZ., in 2002 and worked for Surprise Water Dept as a water reclamation retiring in 2022. He received many awards from his job and the many ideas that were implemented at Sheaffer Pen.

Robert enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, and music concerts, especially the Beatles and Paul McCartney. He looked forward attending his class of 74 reunions. He had a good heart fostering many dogs, cats, from the Humane Society in Arizonia. Robert loved talking about farming with his dad and their Allis-Chalmer tractors.

Robert will be remembered for his kindness, his gentle ways and his soft-spoken words. Always smiling and eager to talk and listen. He will be greatly missed by many.

Robert is survived by his son Rob Jr., his daughter Robin, several grandchildren, a sister Dorothy, a niece, classmates, and his special friend Katherine.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard.

Graveside services for Robert James Hite will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Combs Cemetery, Luray, Missouri. Pastor Shawn McAfee will officiate.

Memorials in memory of Robert Hite are suggested to the Combs Cemetery, or the Humane Society in Surprise, Az. And may be mailed or dropped off at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO.
