RICHARD L. WILSON

Richard L. "R.L." Wilson, age 65, of Kahoka, MO, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 10, 2012,

in the emergency room of Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Richard was born May 29, 1946 in Unionville, MO, a son of Arlo and Margie Rosetta Moss Wilson.

He married Betty Ramsey and they were the parents of two daughters, Melanie and Monica.

Survivors include his daughters, Melanie (Mrs. Sean) Kelly of Alexandria, MO and Monica Wilson of Kahoka, MO; Kathy (Mrs. Dave) Dinger of Lake Zurich, IL, who was like a daughter to him during 20 years he spent in a later relationship; his mother, Margie Wattenbarger of Kahoka, MO; six grandchildren: Madelyn and Sarennah Kelly, Mackenzie Hobbs, and Kathys children, Keegan, Kasey and Kory Schwarz; a step-sister, Kris (Mrs. Tom) Watson of Kansas City, MO; a sister-in-law, Angeline Lindsey of Jacksonville, IL; an aunt, Elizabeth Caroline Keller of Keokuk, IA; as well as nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arlo Wilson; step-father, Merle Wattenbarger; and brother, Clyde Wilson.

Richard attended Kahoka High School. He was a former policeman for the City of Kahoka; a former employee of Keokuk Contractors and was employed by Kaser Corp. for approximately 20 years. He started his own trucking business, Wilson Trucking,which he was very proud of - and recently retired from W. L. Miller.

Richard loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed racing, especially demolition and stock cars. He was also interested in old cars and in horses and buggies. Daily visits to the coffee shop were an important part of his day. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with friends and family.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with words of comfort by Ronnie Waterman and Travis Mathes.

Memorials were suggested for the grand-children's education fund.
