WORLD WAR II VETERAN
Richard Norman McWilliams, 98, of Revere, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his home at 5:48pm, Sunday, April 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born on December 9, 1927, in Chambersburg, Missouri to James and May (Kerr) McWilliams. Richard spent most of his life in Clark County and was raised on the family farm. In 1945 he was a proud graduate of Kahoka High School. From high school he served in the United States Army a World War II Veteran. He was united in marriage to Mary Joy (Peters) Bair on August 13, 1965, and she preceded him in death April 15, 2013.
Richard was a farmer most of his life. From the age of seven he dreamed of becoming a pilot. He was a pilot for Davenport Aviation, Lindner Aviation, Keokuk Steel Castings, Heinz Corp., formerly Hubinger Co., and Ziegler Industries. He had logged over 11,200 flight hours, a testament to his dedication, discipline, and passion. Richard was a faithful member of Revere Community Church until it closed in 2008 and then attended Amazing Grace Bible Church.
Richard is survived by his daughters Caryn Weaver of Revere, MO., Terry McWilliams of Moorestown, NJ, his grandchildren Greg Weaver, John (Cari) Weaver, Jeff (Britni) Weaver Lisa (T.J.) Duncan, Christian Espindola, great grandchildren, Hannah Weaver, Maggie Weaver, Jacob Weaver, Lukas Weaver, Laney Weaver, Mollie Weaver, Gracie Weaver, Blake Weaver, Carter Duncan, Sam Weaver, Carli Duncan, a sister Marilyn Otte of Kahoka, MO., sister-in-law Celia McWilliams of Canton, MO., nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his in-laws William and Mary Peters, son-in-law Steve Weaver, brothers Don and Doug McWilliams, brother-in-law Junior Otte, and sister-in-law Norma McWilliams.
Funeral Services for Richard McWilliams will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 17, 2026, at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, Kahoka, MO. Pastor Matt Wallain will officiate. Burial will follow at the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA., with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post #192 and Army Honor Guard. Visitation with family present will be held at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home Friday, April 17, 2026, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorials in memory of Richard Norman McWilliams are suggested to Amazing Grace Bible Church.
