Natalie Jean (Arnold) Carroll, 62, of Kahoka, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at 10:35am on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Columbia, MO.
Natalie was born on April 4, 1959 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Egbert William (Bill) Arnold and Norma Jean (Phillips) Arnold.
She attended Clark County schools and graduated in 1977. During high school and after graduation, she worked side by side with her dad at the Sears catalog center in Kahoka. At the closing of the Sears center, she began working at Ferrellgas Company in Keokuk, IA and Canton, MO. She has also worked in the State Farm Insurance office of Kahoka, and in later years, she worked for Arnold Accounting, Kahoka, during the busy tax season. Natalie was a dedicated employee and always gave her best to her employers.
On February 12, 1977, Natalie was united in marriage to Jimmy Lee Carroll at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. They raised three children whom were greatly loved, Caleb, Cole, and Callie.
She loved her children, her family, her cat Pippa, and her many friends. She was a generous and loyal friend. She loved to visit with family and friends over good food. Natalie loved people and saw the “good” in everyone she met. She was a prolific reader and served on the Library Board for several years. She also loved playing bridge and was a wonderful partner as well as a strong opponent in the game. In addition to loving to read and playing bridge, Natalie enjoyed crafting, working jig-saw puzzles, and decorating for every holiday throughout the year. Following in her dad’s footsteps, Natalie was a Clark County Fair supporter. She served on the fair board for several years and her beautiful smile could be seen at the front gate as she admitted you into the fair. Natalie had a fierce love for her children. She supported and encouraged their dreams. Natalie always met life’s challenges with great courage and strength; she was a fighter to the very end.
Survivors include her son, Cole (Jennisa) Carroll of Luray, MO, daughter Callie (Calem) Lipper of Columbia, MO, her sister Tamara Arnold (Tim McAfee) of Seattle, WA, brother Randy Arnold of Albuquerque, NM, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Natalie was preceded in death by her parents Bill Arnold and Norma Arnold, her husband Jimmy Lee Carroll, and her eldest son, Caleb Lee Carroll.
