MARY JANE WILLS

Mary Jane Wills, age 86 of Hannibal, MO, died Thursday, December 4, 2003 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA.

She was born July 7, 1917 at Canton, MO, a daughter of Bruce and Iona Courtney Munns.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Macomber and her husband, Aaron, of Luray, MO; two grandchildren; Kellie Carmichael and her husband, Patrick, of Prescott Valley, AZ and Sean Macomber of Luray, MO; one great granddaughter, Meghan Kelsey Carmichael of Prescott Valley, AZ; as well as three nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lowell and Winston Munns.

Mary Jane graduated from Canton High School and graduated from Chillicothe Business College. She then went to work for Time Life Magazine in Chicago. During World War II she worked at the Naval Supply Depot in San Diego. Later she was employed in a secretarial capacity for 27 years at the International Shoe Co. and also worked at Rival Factory and Levering Hospital, all of Hannibal, until her retirement.

Mary Jane attended the First Christian Church in Hannibal and also St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. She was an avid reader and liked to grow flowers. She was also an artist, specializing in charcoal. In later years, she enjoyed traveling with her family.

Fulfilling her wishes, she was cremated and her ashes will be scattered by her family at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials in her memory may be made to Meghan Kelsey Carmichael Education Fund. Arrangements were handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.
