Madonna was born January 28, 1919 in Luray, MO, a daughter of Bryan and Carrie Kerner Overhulser.

She married Wesley Edward Hayden on October 28, 1939 in Kahoka. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1974. On June 12, 1977, she was united in marriage to Lee F. Perry who preceded her in death on July 17, 1992.

Survivors include a son, Bill (Joan) Hayden of Kahoka, MO; a daughter, Mary (Mrs. John) McDaniel of Kahoka, MO; six grandchildren: Chad (Lynn) Young of Burlington, IA, Michael Young of Burlington, IA, Carl Hayden of Corpus Christy, TX, John (Kim) McDaniel, Jr., Debbie (Mrs. Bill) Conger and Tim (Mary) McDaniel, all of Kahoka, MO; granddaughter-in-law, Tammy McDaniel-Ramsey of Kahoka, MO; several great and great-great grandchildren; special friends, Chuck, Connie, Trista and Cody Nelsen; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was a member of the Kahoka Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship; and was a member of the Kahoka Red Hat Grannies.

"Nan" had a wonderful attitude about life. She worked hard without complaining and taught by example how to love her neighbors. Her wit was still very strong at the age of 94.

"Nan" never complained and she had a wonderful, happy, contagious attitude that affected others around her. She loved to eat desserts first and to watch birds at her feeders. She looked forward each year when "Jenny Wren" would return to feed from her feeder and have a visit. Sitting out on the front porch and visiting with neighbors was a key element of her day. She loved running with her Red Hat girls and loved her family.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Kahoka with Rev. Jim Campbell officiating.

Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
