Lettye E. "Beth" Lewis, age 63, of Kahoka, MO, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 28, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born August 21, 1955 in Kahoka, a daughter of Robert and Lula Belle McClellan Laffoon.

Beth graduated from Clark Co. R-1 High School in 1973 and on February 13, 1974, was united in marriage to Alan Lewis at the Kahoka United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Alan, of the home; her mother, Lula Laffoon of Kahoka;

step mother-in-law, Linda Lewis of Kahoka; two sons, Brandon Lewis of Burlington and Ryan Lewis of Kahoka; two daughters, Sara (Mike) Smith of Revere and Megan (Brandon) Parsons of Dearborn, MI; five grandchildren: Rylea and Amarah Lewis, Avery Smith and Jude and Harlow Parsons; one brother, Robert "Bud" (Beverly) Laffoon of Wayland; two sisters,Gretchen (David) Myers of Oak Grove, MO and Kathy (Fred) Buschling of Wayland;brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Conda (Richard (Lindell) of Mesa, AZ, Jerry Lewis of Las Vegas, NV, Donna (Harold) Heinze of Kahoka, Lori (Jimmy) Brooksbank of Mesa, AZ, Cora (Terry) Malone of Kahoka, Mark Egley of Colorado, Daryl (Deana) Egley of Kahoka, Diana Hacker of Mesa, AZ, and Mitchell (Mellissa) Lewis of Chesterfield, MO; as well as other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father; a granddaughter, Lexie Smith; and in-laws, Duane and Sara Mae Lewis.

Beth was a member of the Kahoka United Methodist Church. In earlier years she worked for Dr. Beckert, Sheller Globe and Bill Holliday. Due to her health, she had retired from the Exchange Bank of Kahoka.

Beth loved reading her Bible and Daily Devotionals. She would spend time on her computer finding words of inspiration to keep her focused on what is important in life. She also wrote short stories for grandkids as they were growing up. They were the light of her life and she took great pride in them. Her positive spirit and faith carried her through and became even stronger.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Kahoka United Methodist Church with Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating.

Burial followed in the Sand Cemetery at St. Francisville.

Memorials may be made to the Clark Co. Local Cancer Fund or NEMO Hospice.
