Leonara (McCann) Behra

Leonara Behra, (McCann), 91, formally of Alexandria, Missouri passed away at 5:50 pm, on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Illinois Veteran's Home, in Quincy, Illinois.

Leonara was born on May 27, 1934, in Cranston, Rhode Island to Anthony and Maria Caniglia.

She was raised in Cranston, Rhode Island and attended school there. After school she enlisted in the United States Air Force and trained pilots. She was honorably discharged in 1953. She met and married Jerry McCann while enlisted in the air force and to this union 2 sons were born, they later divorced. Later in life she married Joseph Behra and they also divorced.

Leonara liked to keep busy, she cleaned homes for over 12 years. She looked forward to the season changing so she could plant a huge vegetable garden and attend to her beautiful flowers. She enjoyed getting up in the mornings with her many cups of coffee and watched the birds, especially the hummingbirds.

Leonara is survived by her son Todd McCann of Alexandria, MO, niece’s nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jerry McCann Jr., daughter-in-law Sheree Ash, and her 10 siblings.

According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or service. Memorials in memory of Leonara are to the Sand Cemetery, and may be left or mailed to Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO.
