Lawrence Kiger

Lawrence A. "Larry" Kiger, age 75, of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 in the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Larry was born August 16, 1944 in Decatur, IL, a son of Lawrence A. and Margaret E. Buck Kiger.

On October 27, 1968, he was united in marriage to Gloria Roller in Kahoka.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria, of Kahoka; three children: Brenda Kiger of Keokuk, Troy (Mitzi) Kiger of Kahoka, and Dawn (Darrin) Snodgrass of Center, MO; seven grand-children: Justin (Shilah) Kiger of Bellefontaine, OH, Cory (Bailee) Kiger of Kahoka, Bree Vaughn of Keokuk, Kassi Kiger of Kahoka, Kolt (Tori) Kiger of Kahoka and Eli and Evelyn Snodgrass of Center; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Shanks of Nora Springs, IA; as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Henrietta Kiger and Jeanette Bruhn.

Larry graduated from high school in Nora Springs and graduated from Quincy Tech with certification in refrigeration and air conditioning.

He enjoyed buying and selling and tinkering with old cars. He also enjoyed coffee shop "discussions". Most important to him was his family, fishing and being outdoors. Nothing was more dear to him than his kids and grandkids and he attended as many sports activities of all three generations as much as he could. His house and heart were always open to those who needed a home.

Private funeral services will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Chris Lind officiating. Burial will follow in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home after noon on Sunday with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.
