Lawrence E. Edmondson, age 59, of Medill, MO, died Saturday, August 31, 2013 at
his home.

Lawrence was born July 23, 1954 at Keokuk, IA, the son of Kenneth Eugene and Dorothy Russell Edmondson.

He married Brenda Ewart and they were the parents of three children: Chad, Todd, and Nicole.

Survivors include his children, Todd Edmondson and Nicole Edmondson, both of Kahoka, MO; two brothers, David (Karen) Edmondson of Wayland, MO and Gary Alvis of Cassville, MO; a sister, Pam (Mrs. Larry) Turner of Brighton, IA; five grandchildren: Genna, Evin, and Aaliyah Edmondson, and R. J. and Destiny Stephens; daughter-in-law, Brandy Smith of Medill, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Edmondson, his mother, Dorothy Alvis, and son, Chad Edmondson.

Lawrence was a 1972 graduate of Clark Co. R-1 High School and an employee of Henniges in Keokuk. He loved to hunt, fish, and go camping and was a member of the American Hunters and Shooters Association. He was a hard worker and jack of all trades. He recycled any type of scrap and was always available to help someone else whether it was putting a vehicle back together, tearing down a barn, or building something new. He loved to visit and never knew a stranger.

When it came to his family, they came first, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Cemetery at St. Francisville.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice or to the family.
