JOYCE A. BLACKMORE

Joyce Ann Blackmore, age 70, of Kahoka, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 9, 2018, at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Joyce was born June 9, 1947 in Hannibal, a daughter of Walter and Irean Moore Grandstaff.

She married Charles Harvey and they were the parents of one son, Rodney. She later married Jim Blackmore who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Rodney Harvey and his wife, Joni, of Luray, MO; a sister, Janice Fisher and her husband, Jerry, of Colleyville, TX; as well as several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jim.

Joyce was employed by the Iowa Ammunition Plant in Burlington and later was a bus driver for children with special needs in the Hannibal area. She retired from Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

Joyce had many talents including crafting, decorating, caring for her house plants and gardening. She loved to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and nature. She loved all of Rodney and Joni’s dogs over the years and enjoyed visits from River, Esther and Olive. Joyce’s interest in Native Americans sparked them to travel and visit many historical sites. She loved to read and had read the Bible in its’ entirety several times.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal, MO with Pastor James Leezer officiating. Burial will follow.

Friends may register at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
