JEWELL EILEEN CALVERT

Jewell Eileen Calvert, better known to friends and family as Eileen, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 in Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO.

Formerly from Wyaconda, she was a resident of the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka the past several years.

Born June 14, 1926 near Liberty Church, Eileen was the daughter of Romain and Dena Breidenstein Priebe. She married Marion David Calvert December 21, 1945 in Kahoka, and led the life of a pipeliner's wife until they retired to Wyaconda, MO, in 1979. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1994.

Survivors include three sons, Craig Steven (Jetty) Calvert of Carthage, IL, Kent Sterling (Kathy) Calvert of Kahoka, MO, and Mark Lee (Ranae) Calvert of West Des Moines, IA; one
grandson, Jeremiah David Calvert of West Des Moines, IA; a brother, Raymond Dale Priebe (Martha St. Clair) of Kahoka, MO; and, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son and infant daughter; and a brother, Otis Gene Priebe.

Eileen was a 1945 graduate of Wyaconda High School and a member of the Wyaconda United Methodist Church and U.M.W., as well as Royal Neighbors.

Eileen enjoyed refinishing furniture, home decorating, quilting, and sewing. She loved working in her yard. Family came first to her and spending time with them was her greatest joy.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial followed in the Wyaconda Cemetery.
