JESSIE H. SCHLOTTER
Jessie H. Schlotter, age 90, of Canton, MO, died peacefully Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.
Jessie was born September 2, 1920 in Keokuk, IA, one of four children of Frank and Elsie Anderson Winters.
On May 31, 1946, she was united in marriage to Fred B. Schlotter at the Little Brown Church in the Vale located in Nashua, IA.
Survivors include her husband, Fred, of Canton, MO; two sons, Mark Schlotter and his wife, Barb, of Canton, MO, and Dave Schlotter of Keokuk, IA; a grandson she helped raise, Rocky Ketchum of Tampa, FL; one brother, Franklin "Bud" Winters and his wife, Nina, of Wayland, MO; two sisters, Madeline Davidson and her husband, Dave, of Seattle, WA and Virginia DelGuzzi of Port Angeles, WA; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Mae Winters; and a daughter, Judy Waite.
Jessie was a member of Bluff Springs Methodist Church. She was a devoted farm wife and mother and had cared for her step-mother, Mae, for several years. Jessie was content being at home, growing flowers, working in her garden and spending time with her family.
There will be no services or visitation. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Bluff Springs United Methodist Church or the Clark Co. Nursing Home Activity Fund.
