ERNEST LEE HAMNER

Ernest Lee Hamner, age 37, formerly of Luray, MO, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at his home in Thousand Oaks, CA.

He was born October 13, 1971 in Memphis, MO, a son of Oval Eugene and Margery Ruth Bair Hamner.

Survivors include his parents, Gene Hamner and Judy Payton of Kahoka, MO and Ruthie Hamner of Luray, MO; three brothers: Merle and Candy Hamner and Opie and Rhonda Hamner all of Luray, MO, and Bill Hamner and special friend, Margie, of Thousand Oaks, CA; a sister, Barbara Jean Murphy of Kahoka, MO; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and an uncle, Ron Hamner.

Lee graduated from Wyaconda High School in 1990 and served in the U.S. Navy following. He was an excellent welder and mechanic and farmed a lot for his dad and Harold Trump while in Clark Co. The past three years he had lived in California doing construction work. However, no matter where he was, Clark County was always "home".

Lee was a cowboy at heart, and enjoyed riding horses and mules with his big Stetson, long black coat and fancy belt buckles. The highlight of his year was attending the Mule Festival and visiting old friends. He also loved the Fort Madison Trail Ride. He loved motorcycles, 4-wheeling and nightly horseshoe games. Life never got better than hanging out with friends, family and his special friend "Ozzy" the dog.

A Time of Gathering and Sharing will be held Friday, July 24, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka. Friends can register Friday, July 24, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home.
