Elizabeth Louise Dalton Humes, age 74, of Wyaconda, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in the emergency room of Scotland Co. Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Louise was born August 20, 1945 in Kirksville, MO, a daughter of Delbert Floyd and Opal Irene Aldridge Dalton.

In her early years, she lived with her family near rural Nebraska City, NE and Crawford, MO before growing up in the rural Memphis area. It was there that Louise spent the rest of her childhood years and attended Memphis High School, graduating in 1963.

Louise was united in marriage to Ernest Leroy "Doc" Humes on June 19, 1966 at the First Christian Church in Memphis, MO.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest "Doc" Humes of the home; one son, Stacy Humes of Wyaconda, MO; one daughter, Holly (Matthew) Heinze of Kahoka, MO; four grandchildren: Dalton and Brendon Humes and Clayton and Lauryn Heinze; one brother, Bill (Bonnie) Dalton of Memphis, MO; two sisters, Kathy Hyde of New London, IA and Karen Elsea of Willmathsville, MO; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Sherry Dalton of Luray, MO, Patricia Varnold of Moberly, MO, Dora (Don) Fogle of Memphis, MO, Mary Fleer of Quincy, IL, Lois Humes of Wyaconda, MO and Joanne Humes of Macon, MO; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Louise was formerly employed by the Scotland Co. Nursing Home and the Scotland Hospital Therapy Dept. She retired from the Clark Co. Pharmacy in Kahoka.

Louise was first and foremost a farm wife and mother. She enjoyed helping Doc on the farm, growing flowers, gardening and with her cat, Buttercup, trailing behind. She had a very strong faith that she lived and a tremendous love for her family. She was an avid supporter of her grandchildren in anything they did and enjoyed attending their sporting and other activities.
