E.W. "Bill" Arnold was born on August 5, 1929 in Lewistown, Missouri, the second child of E.F. and Madge Harris Arnold and died on October 25, 2011 in Hannibal, Missouri. He grew up in Lewistown with sister Joanne and brother Burleigh, enjoying the warmth of his community and gained his life-long love of sports and the outdoors.

Bill married Norma Jean Phillips shortly after graduation from Lewistown High School. He owned his first business, a small gas station, in Lewistown, before moving to Kahoka in 1958, when he became an owner of Home Gas Company. In addition, for several years he was an authorized Sears Catalogue Merchant. Bill was active in the community, serving on Kahoka City Council, Clark County Fair Board, and on the consistory of St. Paul United Church of Christ. He was a 40+ year bank board member of the Exchange Bank of NE Mo. and a member of Labelle Lodge # 222, A.F.& A.M.

Bill is pre-deceased by his parents, E.F. and Madge Arnold, grandson, Caleb Carroll, son-in-law, Jimmy Carroll, brother-in-law, Garrett Haines, sister-in-law, Mary Arnold and half-brother, Clifford Spath.

Bill Arnold is survived by his children, Randy Arnold of Albuquerque, NM, Tamara Arnold (Tim McAfee) of Seattle WA, and Natalie Carroll of Kahoka; his siblings Joanne Albertson (Dick) of Alamo TX and Burleigh Arnold (Rebecca) of Los Angeles CA; his grandchildren Robenson Arnold, Ryan McAfee, Cole Carroll and his fiancé, Jennisa Pullins, and Callie Carroll; his great granddaughter, Harper McAfee; three step-grandchildren and their families: Craig McAfee, Staci Steffy, and Scott McAfee; as well as nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Marie Paterik officiating and Tamara Arnold, eulogist. Memorials may be made to the Clark County Fair.
