Dorothy E. Trump
Dorothy E. Trump, age 86, of Kahoka, MO, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 in Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, Iowa.
She was born November 14, 1918 near Alexandria, MO, a daughter of Oscar Ray and Bertha Neumann Sheffler.
She and Karl Roland Trump were married at her family home on January 29, 1938. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Harold G. Trump and his wife, Marvis, of Luray, MO, and Gary Trump and his wife, Carol, of Kahoka, MO; one daughter, Nancy Uhlmeyer and her husband, Ervin, of Alexandria, MO; nine grandchildren: Marla Pelton of St. Charles, MO, Pam and David Boudreau of Kahoka, MO, Charlotte Gray of Wentzville, MO, James and Laura Gray of Kahoka, MO, Eric Gray of Canton, MO, Thad and Nancy Trump of Kahoka, MO, Tiffiny and Ralf Humbert of Bentonville, AR, Trinity and Jeff Davis of Memphis, MO, and Tritia and Barry Odom of Columbia, MO; 18 great grandchildren: Kristel Pelton of Macomb, IL, Karlee Pelton of St. Charles, MO, Ashley, Abe and Amelia Boudreau of Kahoka, MO, Britten, Abigail, Alexandra and Nickalus Gray of Kahoka, MO, Erika and Chance Gray of Canton, MO, Hannah, Jacob, and Caroline Trump of Kahoka, MO, Yasmine Humbert of Bentonville, AR, Sadie and Clara Davis of Memphis, MO, and James Trump Odom of Columbia, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard Gregory of Kahoka, MO, Richard Trump of Des Moines, IA, Margaret Buford of Hobart, IN, and Ruth Hood of Warrington, PA; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Mark Trump; a brother, Harold Sheffler; and a sister, Lucille Gregory.
Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of Kahoka High School. She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka and former church secretary.
Karl and Dorothy had farmed in Clark County and prior to establishment of the rural water district, had hauled water to the area for 60 years. During that time they also assisted the local fire department when extra water was needed. For 45 years they had kept the track watered during horses races and other events at the Clark County Fair.
Dorothy enjoyed raising chickens, selling eggs and visiting with customers. She also enjoyed visiting with friends at the coffee shop and around town. She loved sports, basketball in particular, and was an avid Clark County Indian fan. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services are Friday, April 15, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka with Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating.
Burial will be in St. Paul Church Cemetery.
Friends can call after 11 a.m. on Thursday with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to St. Paul United Church of Christ Elevator Fund.
