DELBERT L. SCOBEE

Delbert L. Scobee, age 59, of Wyaconda, MO, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at his home following a battle with cancer.

Delbert was born August 5, 1956 at Kirksville, MO, a son of Ross E. and Velma J. Clay Scobee.

He married Delores White and they were the parents of a son, Delbert.

Survivors include his son, Delbert L. "J.R." Scobee, Jr. and his wife Amy, of Wyaconda, MO; three grandchildren: Avery Dent, Hayden and Jacob Scobee; a brother, Gilbert Scobee and wife, Junie, of Alexandria, MO; nieces and nephews and their families: Jeremy (Waisha) Scobee of Lawrence, KS, Jared Scobee of Kahoka, and Holly Scobee of Alexandria; good friend, Tim Yancy, who was always there for him; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Delbert was a 1974 graduate of Wyaconda High School. He was a much in demand roofer and also involved in construction. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, particularly coon, and calling in predatory animals.

He attended the First Baptist Church in Wyaconda and became a lay minister with a special calling in the jail ministry. He had a weekly ministry in the Scotland and Schuyler county jails and occasionally in Clark Co. and several prisons.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Wyaconda Baptist Church with Pastor James Leezer officiating. Inurnment will be in the Wyaconda Cemetery.
