DEBRA E. WOODS

Debra Eileane Woods was born July 12, 1953 to Craton William and Hazel Medley Protsman in Keokuk, Iowa.

Debra went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2005 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She graduated from Clark County R-1 High School in 1972 and married her high school sweetheart, Larry E. Woods, on May 26, 1973 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kahoka.

Debra is preceded in death by her parents. She is also preceded in death by her brother, William (Bill) Protsman, and her mother-in-law Anna Marie Woods

Debra is survived by her husband, Larry E. Woods of Kahoka, MO; three sons: Larry E. Woods, Jr. and his fiancé, Melissa Bean of Fort Madison, IA, Larry's two sons, Kevin and Allen Woods and their mother, Audrey, of Kahoka, MO, Ryan Woods and his wife, Mandi, of Wayland, MO, and Eric Woods of the home; her loving cat, Brutus, also of the home;

three sisters, Margaret Morgan Perry of LaHarpe, IL, Rosemary Wilson and her husband, Jack, of Alexandria, MO, and Shirley Adams and her husband, James "Whitey" of Savannah, MO. Debra is also survived by her father-in-law, Cyril Woods; her sister-in-law, Patsy Garner; and her brother-in-law, William T. Woods, all of Kahoka, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.

Debra was raised by her sister Rosemary and brother-in-law Jack. Through that union

Debra has two brothers and a sister: Jack Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Hamilton, IL,

Jeff Wilson and his wife, Ann, of Quincy, IL; and one sister, Jodi Cook and her husband, Matt of Keokuk, IA.

She truly had a heart of compassion for all. Those who entered her presence knew that they were loved. Debra remained tremendously faithful to God and enjoyed sharing His comfort and peace with others. Debra deeply loved her sons and grandsons. They were continuous joy throughout many difficult days. She also enjoyed vacationing, playing cards, yard sales, casino gaming, soap operas and movies.

Debra was a vital member of the Lend A Hand Club. She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kahoka. She also attended Church of New Beginnings in Keokuk.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kahoka with Father Paul Hartley officiating. Cremation will follow with inurnment at a later date.

Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 1 p.m. on Friday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.
