Dale Steven Clark, 76, of Revere, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at 6:08 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. 

He was born on September 30, 1946, in San Diego, California to the late Clifford and Doris (Briggs) Clark. He married Bonita (Suzie) Lucas on April 10, 1970, the parents of a son and a daughter. They later divorced.

He graduated from Kahoka High School in 1965. He worked for 6 months after high school before being drafted into the Marines. He entered the service in February of 1966 and was discharged in February 1968 from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He did his basic training and advanced training at Camp Pendleton, California. He served in Vietnam including Khe Sanh, Quang Tri and various other locations. While in Vietnam he was wounded in the line of duty receiving two purple heart medals, also receiving the Presidential Unit Citation; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnamese Service Medal w/1*; Vietnamese Campaign Medal w/Device 60-; Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. After leaving the military, he went back to work at Fruehauf. While there, he had various job responsibilities, such as machine operator and welder, retiring after 33 years. 

Dale was known for his passion and workmanship with guns. He always had a gun to show and/or a gun story he was willing to share with you. He was able to do any type of gun restoration that was needed. He enjoyed his many trips to Rutledge Flea Market and various gun shows. His cats were a big part of his life as well, which he enjoyed immensely. Being the mayor and mowing yards around Revere was something he enjoyed doing and was proud of. And according to his family, he was always busy “piddling around” and having his cup of coffee with his many buddies. Dale was a proud life member of the NRA.

Dale is survived by his son, Chad Clark, Blue Springs, MO and his daughter, Kelly (Patrick) Darling, Grain Valley, MO. ; granddaughter Morgan Darling and grandson Bradley Darling both of Grain Valley, MO; 2 brothers David (Donna) Clark, Montrose, Iowa and Mike (Barb) Clark of Kahoka, MO; 2 half-brothers Nathan (Denise) Clark, Kirksville MO, Kevin Clark, Hamilton, Il, and a half-sister Carol (Rob) Kephart, Donnellson, IA; as well as  many other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his stepmother; Evelyn Finton and by a brother; Danny Clark.

Memorial services honoring Dale’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home of Kahoka.  Pastor Shelby Whitney will officiate.  Full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion, Herman Blum Post #192, The VFW Post #4342 and the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of services at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be held at the Keokuk National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Dale are suggested to the Humane Society of Missouri.
