Cory Fowler

Cory Robert Fowler, 50, of Kahoka, passed away at 9:43 am on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

He was born on May 28, 1973, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Donald Lee Fowler & Roselyn (Spiegel) Self. Cory was united in marriage to Lisa (Mortimer) Fowler on July 23, 1994, in Monet, MO. and she survives.

Cory worked for Keokuk Steel Castings as an Arc Welder up until his car accident in 2003. He was dedicated to his work and enjoyed working with his coworkers. He was a huge fan of the Alabama Football team (Go Crimson Tide)! A highlight for Cory was going to Kansas City to watch Nascar and did that several times. Cory had a talent with woodworking, he made signs, shadow boxes and furniture while listening to his favorite group ACDC. He was a family man and enjoyed special times with his wife, children and grandchildren. Cory was very simple and didn’t require a lot to be happy, he appreciated life and the friendships that he made.

In addition to his wife Lisa of 29 years, Cory is survived by his mother, 2 sons; Derreck Fowler & Maddyx Fowler both of Kahoka, 1 daughter; Darylanna (Tyler) Hills of Warsaw, IL, his brother; Keith Peterson, 2 sisters; Amanda Slater and Carmen Finder, and 2 grandchildren; Azura Rainbolt and Aizlynn Fowler. Other relative and friends. Cory was preceded in death by his father and his Uncle John.

A Celebration honoring Cory’s life will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at The Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka. A eulogy will be given by his brother Keith Peterson. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Cory are suggested to the family, checks payable to: Lisa Fowler.
