CLIFFORD I. WILSON

Clifford Irvin Wilson, age 93, of Wyaconda, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Scotland Co. Hospital in Memphis.

Clifford was born November 15, 1924 at Wayland, MO, a son of Irvin and Bessie M. Scovern Wilson.

On July 30, 1952, he was united in marriage to Lois Irene Dochterman in Kahoka by Rev. Golden. She preceded him in death on June 13, 2012.

Survivors include his four children: Marsha Boatman and her husband, Roy, of Wyaconda, Harry A. Wilson and his wife, Diane, of Williamstown, Anita Watkins and her husband, Randy, of Memphis, and Kevin Wilson and his wife, Lorie, also of Memphis; eight grandchildren: Kena Frederick and her husband, Gerald, of Baring, Aaron Boatman of Tampa, FL, Mark Boatman and Lacey St. Clair of Kahoka, Adam Boatman of Lincoln, NE, Joshua Wilson and his wife, Ashley, of Canton, Toby Wilson of Columbia, Amanda Watkins of Woodway, TX and Riley Watkins of Canton; five great grandchildren: Laramie Jackson and her husband, Jeff, Erika McBane, Cheyenne and Sorrel Frederick and Fynlee Boatman; three great-great grandchildren: Ian and Harper Jackson and Delilah McBane; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Arlene Dochterman of Memphis, Nancy Wilson of Canton, and Vernon Howard of Memphis; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one grandson, Matthew Wilson; two brothers, Verlin Wilson and Darrell Wilson in infancy; a sister, Mildred Howard; and other relatives.

Clifford was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in the Asian-Pacific Theater and the Phillipines. He was privileged to go on the Great River Honor Flight to Washington, DC on September 25, 2014 and loved telling others about it.

He farmed and raised cattle all of his life and drove a school bus for the Wyaconda School District for over 25 years.

Clifford was a hard worker and was always fixing something that was broken and enjoyed the time spent tinkering on his machinery. He continued to educate himself throughout his life by reading. If he didn’t know how to do something he would read up on it until he understood. This was also true of his stewardship of his land and his love of caring for animals and raising cattle.

He was a member of the Wyaconda Baptist Church and his faith was a very important part of his life and of his family. Clifford had a very tender, caring heart when it came to people and animals. He loved his family dearly and became very close to his family at the Scotland Co. Residential Terrace in Memphis where he had made his home the past five years.

Clifford loved antique tractor pulls and old machinery. He looked forward to attending the Scotland Co. Antique Fair and the tractor pulls at Wyaconda each year.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor James Leezer officiating.

Burial with military rites will follow in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Friends may register between the hours of 9 and 5 on Friday and family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2.
