Chris Young, 52, of Wayland, (formerly of Kahoka), passed away at 4:59 pm on Monday, January 8, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois surrounded by his family.  Chris was born on December 10, 1971 to Joseph L. and Betty (Schreiber) Young.  He was married to Teresa (Evans) Young and to this union 3 children were born Bryan, Brittany and Abbigail that was like a daughter.  He later married Carla Soper and later divorced and to this union 2 more children were added to the family Tyler Brammer and Dillan Brammer.

Chris attended school at Kahoka.  When Chris wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting, and looking for arrowheads. He loved to work on all kinds of vehicles, but his favorites were old chevy trucks. Chris was a huge fan of NASCAR, he was very knowledgeable of the drivers and their cars.  But above all, even NASCAR, he loved being with his grandchildren.

Chris is survived by his mother Betty, 1 son: Bryan (Cynthia) Young of Keokuk, IA, 2 daughters: Brittany (Jason) Gregory of Meridian, MS and, Abbigail DeBlanc of Wayland, MO, 9 grandchildren: Tommie, Paul, Makayla, Layne, Kinsley, Sophie, Brayton, Atticus, and Hazel. 1 great grandchild: Tony, 3 sisters: Tracy (Jim) Sturm of Keokuk, IA, Terry Young of Canton, MO and Jody (Tommy) Amos of Kahoka, MO, 4 nieces: Kelsie, Shaila, Shian, Destiny, 1 nephew: Damien, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Joseph L. young, 2 brothers: Tony Palmer and Clay Riebel.

 Visitation will be held at the Wilson Triplett Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Cremation to follow.  Memorial contributions in memory of Chris Young are suggested to the family.
