BRENDA EWART SLOCUM

Brenda Ewart Slocum, age 55, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:55 p.m. at her parent's home south of Kahoka.

Brenda was born July 31, 1958 in Keokuk, IA, a daughter of Norman and Elsie
Haage Ewart.

She married Lawrence Edmondson and they were blessed with three children: Chad, Todd and Nicole.

Survivors include one son, Todd Edmondson; a daughter, Nicole Edmondson and her companion, Rick Pendergrass; her parents, Norman and Elsie Ewart; five grandchildren: Genna, Evin and Aaliyah Edmondson, and R. J. and Destiny Stephens; brother and sister, Jerald Ewart and companion Cindy Martin, and Linda (Mrs. Dennis) Shoup, all of Kahoka; nephew and nieces and their families: Gerret Ewart and Amanda (Mrs. Dan) Miller both of Kahoka, Debbie Ewart of Burlington, Emily and Elle Stewart and Deanna Shoup, all of Kahoka; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by a son, Chad Edmondson, and two brothers, Eldon and Duane Ewart.

Brenda attended school in Clark County. She retired from Henniges and worked for the Clark Co. R-1 School District as long as her health permitted. She was a former manager of the Kahoka Crossings.

She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed being with her church family.
She loved doing crafts, attending auctions, yard sales, and "antiquing". Caring for her family, especially her grandchildren, was what loved more than anything in life.

Memorial services were held Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Glen Yoder officiating. Interment followed in the Frazee Cemetery south of Wayland.
