BETTY JEAN MOHR

Betty Jean Mohr, age 72, of Kahoka, MO, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her home.

Betty Jean was born February 2, 1946 at home in Clark County, a daughter of Asa and Lula Pearl Campbell Morehouse.

She attended rural Gem School for 8 years, graduating from Kahoka High School.

On April 20, 1974, she was united in marriage to Everett Mohr. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1996.

Survivors include a son, Timothy Lee (Jennifer Sue) Mohr of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Rhonda Renee Goodman of Kahoka, MO; Everett’s children: John (Melinda) Mohr of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jerry Mohr of Kansas City, MO and Bonnie (Dave) Bowmaster of Springfield, MO; two grand-children, Samantha and Jacob Mohr of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Raymond (Rose) Morehouse of Kahoka, MO; a sister, Marjorie (Allan) Henderson of Gillespie, IL; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise Morehouse of Kahoka, Mary Morehouse and Janet (Francis) Parsons, all of Wayland; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, David Goodman; brothers: Floyd, Marvin, and Edwin Morehouse; and, sister-in-law, Hazel Morehouse.

Betty Jean spent most of her life as a housewife and farm wife. She retired from Dadant and Sons in March following thirty years of employment there.

Betty Jean was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka where she was a former Sunday School teacher and consistory member. She enjoyed her morning Sudoko, eating catfish on Friday, watching NASCAR, her animals, and visiting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She had a beautiful smile and a loving nature and each Christmas was spent making cookies to share with friends, neighbors, and shut-ins.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Dixie Laube officiating. Burial followed in the St. Paul Cemetery.
