AMAH LOU SCHREIBER

Amah Lou Schreiber, age 93, of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

She was born March 19, 1926 at Mt. Ayr, IA, a daughter of Emry C. and Hazel E. Ennis Boyles.

On December 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Dean Schreiber. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2013.

Survivors include one son, Alan Schreiber of Eltopia, WA; three daughters: Rebecca (Ken) Russell of Belton, MO, Nancy Shultz of Donnellson, IA and Alice (Michael) St. Clair of Luray, MO; twelve grandchildren: Caleb and Aaron Shultz, Matt (Latia) Shultz, Luke (Frani) Shultz, Jordan (Amy) Russell, Rachel (Darrell) Shipley, Emily, Andrea and Elise Hopkins, Blake St. Clair, and Drew and Julian Schreiber; five great-grandchildren: Callie and Cooper Russell and Ryker, Rayven and Henry Shultz; brother-in-law, Gale Schreiber of Kahoka; sister-in-law, Janet Buford of Kahoka; a sister by choice, not by birth, Alice Johnson of Huntsville, AL by way of Mt. Ayr, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Martin and Neil Schreiber; and a brother, Robert Boyles.

Following graduation from high school she attended college for a total of 8 years, receiving continuing education in the field of education and library science. She retired from the Clark Co. R-1 School District as librarian and then worked at Gorin and Luray schools. She was very well known for her story telling.

Amah Lou was a faithful member of the Peaksville Christian Church and served as pianist as long as her eye sight permitted.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Peaksville Christian Church with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial followed in the Revere Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Revere Cemetery or Clark Co. Elementary Libraries.
