Allen Davidson

Allen Eugene Davidson, age 77, formerly of Warsaw, IL, died peacefully
early Wednesday morning, December 12, 2012, at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA.

Gene was born April 29, 1935, in Kahoka, Missouri, a son of John E. and Mary E. Fishback Davidson.

He married Lavonda Vickers and they were the parents of six children: Roger, Teresa, Charlotte, Jeff, Curtis and Rolonda. He later married Donna Bender and they were the parents of Jennifer, Matthew and Connie Sue.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Warsaw, IL; nine children: Roger (Theresa) Davidson of Oxford, IA, Teresa (Mrs. Harvey) Hoskins of Keokuk, IA, Charlotte (Mrs. Kevin) Yoder of Wellman, IA, Jeff Davidson of Wellman, IA, Curtis (Edythe) Davidson of Findlay, OH, Rolonda (Mrs. John) Jordan of Medill, MO, Jennifer Bender of Montrose, IA, Matthew Bender of Colchester, IL and Connie Sue (Mrs. Chuck) Denning of Loraine, IL; five step-children: Donna, Jackson, Lori, Angie and Robin; two sisters, Martha St. Clair (Dale Priebe) of Kahoka, MO and Naomi Gray of Tulsa, OK; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leon, John Edward and Roger Davidson; a grandchild, Leslie Berry; and, special friend, Pastor John Varner.

He had been employed at Henniges Automotive for 41 years, retiring in 2006 and was a member of Steelworkers 444L at Keokuk.

His faith was a very important part of his life. He loved to spend time in worship and enjoyed attending several churches in the area on a regular basis. He was of the Pentacostal faith.

Gene loved kids, his family and dogs, especially Peanut. He had an unusual gift of "whistling" and loved tinkering on cars. He truly enjoyed spending time visiting with friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastors Wes Davis and Bill Hayes officiating. Burial was in the Ashton Cemetery.
